Expert Advice & Support
Pantera Mini – Compact Thermal
The Pard Pantera Mini 256 Q is a lightweight thermal riflescope built around a 256×192 uncooled VOx thermal sensor with a 12μm pixel pitch and ≤15mK NETD sensitivity. Designed for shooters prioritising compact handling and reduced overall rifle weight, the unit weighs approximately 500g while retaining a conventional 30mm-style riflescope format.
Its 25mm objective lens and native 3.6× optical magnification position the Mini 256 Q towards short- and medium-range shooting scenarios where a wider field of view and faster target acquisition are preferred over high-base magnification systems.
The thermal core operates at a 50Hz frame rate, maintaining fluid image rendering during tracking and scanning movements.
1920×1080 OLED Display System
Unlike lower-resolution display systems commonly found in compact thermal optics, the Pantera Mini 256 Q integrates a 1920×1080 OLED display. This provides a higher-definition viewing interface for thermal image presentation, menu navigation and reticle visibility.
The scope supports five image modes: white, black, red, iron and sky mode.
Scene modes include: city, rain and forest.
The display configuration also includes Picture-in-Picture functionality for maintaining situational awareness while simultaneously viewing a magnified aiming window.
Optical Layout and Viewing Characteristics
The 25mm germanium objective lens provides a horizontal field of view of 12.3m at 100m, with a 7° horizontal angular field of view. Combined with the lower base magnification, this configuration favours woodland, pest control and shorter-range field shooting where rapid image acquisition is important.
Digital zoom is available in stepped increments of: 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x.
The scope also includes ±5D diopter adjustment and 50mm eye relief.
Housing Design and Controls
The Pantera Mini 256 Q uses an aluminium alloy housing with an IP67 protection rating. Control inputs are positioned using staggered-height buttons alongside a side-focus adjustment system intended for operation in low-light conditions or while wearing gloves.
Power is supplied via a single 18650 lithium-ion battery. Internal storage is not specified by manufacturer; however, the unit supports Micro SD cards up to 128GB.
Six reticle patterns are available with four selectable reticle colours: red, white, yellow and green.
Standby mode and hot tracking functionality are also included within the operating system.
