Expert Advice & Support
High-Resolution Thermal Imaging in the Cetus 635 Platform
The Pixfra Cetus C635 is built around a 640×512 vanadium oxide thermal sensor with a 12μm pixel pitch and a stated NETD rating of ≤15mK. This configuration provides the highest thermal resolution currently available within the Cetus series, delivering increased image detail and improved target recognition potential compared with lower-resolution alternatives in the range.
The sensor operates across the 8–14μm spectral range and is paired with Pixfra’s PIPS 3.0 image processing system. Together, the high-resolution thermal core and advanced image processing are designed to maximise scene detail while maintaining the compact dimensions that characterise the Cetus platform.
35mm Objective Lens with Wide Field Coverage
Unlike many thermal scopes that prioritise higher native magnification, the C635 combines its 35mm F1.0 objective lens with a comparatively modest 2.5× base magnification. This approach allows the scope to deliver a notably wide 12.5° × 10.0° field of view, equivalent to approximately 21.9m × 17.6m at 100 metres.
The wider field coverage can be advantageous when scanning larger areas, tracking moving targets or maintaining broader situational awareness. Pixfra specifies a maximum detection distance of up to 2300 metres, making the C635 the longest-range detection model within the current Cetus family. Digital magnification from 1× to 8× is also available when additional image enlargement is required.
1600×1200 OLED Display and PIPS 3.0 Processing
Image presentation is handled through a 0.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1600×1200. The display is matched to the 640×512 thermal sensor to provide a detailed viewing experience while retaining support for multiple viewing modes and image enhancement functions.
The C635 includes six colour palettes, picture-in-picture viewing, hot spot tracking, defective pixel correction and multiple reticle configurations with selectable colour options. Five independent zeroing profiles are available, allowing the scope to be configured across multiple rifles or ammunition setups.
Recording, Storage and Field Features
The scope incorporates integrated video recording, image capture, Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, onboard microphone support and 64GB of internal storage. Media can be stored directly within the device without requiring external memory cards.
Power is supplied by a replaceable 18650 lithium battery, with Pixfra specifying up to 4.5 hours of operation at 25°C with Wi-Fi disabled. The C635 also features USB Type-C connectivity, IP67 environmental protection and recoil resistance rated to 1000g/0.4ms. Despite its higher-resolution sensor and display system, overall weight remains approximately 530g.
