Thermal Sensor and Optical Configuration

The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 is built around a 640×512 VOx uncooled focal plane array with a 12µm pixel pitch and sub-15mK sensitivity. This combination supports improved thermal contrast and target separation in challenging conditions, particularly in low temperature differentials.

The 35mm F1.0 objective lens provides a balance between field coverage and detection reach, delivering a specified detection range of up to 1800 metres. Base magnification starts at 1.9×, extending to 15.2× via digital zoom, allowing flexible observation across varying distances. 

A minimum focusing distance of 3.5 metres ensures usability in closer-range scenarios, while the 12.5° × 7.5° field of view supports scanning across open terrain without excessive image narrowing.

Image Processing and Display System

HikMicro’s Image Pro 3.0 and Zoom Pro algorithms are integrated to refine image clarity, particularly when using digital magnification. The system also incorporates HSIS (HIKMICRO Shutterless Image System), eliminating periodic shutter calibration interruptions during operation.

The display is a 0.49-inch AMOLED panel with 1920 × 1080 resolution, providing a high pixel density viewing surface. This supports detailed image rendering and improved edge definition when compared to lower-resolution display systems.

Multiple colour palettes are available, including Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot, Fusion, and monochrome variants, allowing adaptation to different environmental conditions and user preference.

Recording, Connectivity and System Functions

The Lynx 3.0 LQ35 includes onboard video recording, image capture, and audio recording, with 64GB of internal EMMC storage. This enables local recording without reliance on external devices.

Wireless connectivity is supported via dual-band 2.4GHz / 5GHz Wi-Fi, allowing image streaming and control through compatible mobile applications. Additional system features include Picture-in-Picture (PIP), Hot Track target detection, and distance measurement functionality.

Standby mode is included to preserve battery life during periods of inactivity without fully powering down the unit.

Power System and Physical Design

Power is supplied via a replaceable and rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery. The unit provides up to 5 hours of operation at 25°C with hotspot enabled, or approximately 4.5 hours at -20°C under the same conditions.

External power can be supplied via USB Type-C (5V, 2A), supporting both direct operation and charging.

The device weighs 354.5g including battery and measures 169.6 × 53.6 × 49.5 mm. The compact form factor is designed for handheld use and portability, with an IP67 rating for environmental protection against water and dust ingress.
